About.

I created this website to consolidate my internet presence after letting go of (most of) my social media accounts.

Why no socials?

I lived in Brooklyn, NY for most of my 20s, until my dad became ill. In August 2018, I returned to my hometown, just outside of Seattle, to care for him. I moved into my childhood bedroom, found a job that suited me, and started dating. My dad passed away six weeks after my return.

I held onto my friends in Brooklyn through social media. We kept in touch very actively at first, but naturally many connections deteriorated over time. When I visited the city a year later, familiar places had changed and it seemed that the space I had painstakingly carved out for myself over six years had all but vanished.

Meanwhile in Seattle, my social circle consisted of a fiance (yes, that fast) and my best friend from college. My colleagues were wonderful, but in my life's grief and chaos, I found it hard to reach out, opting instead to cling to my existing tenuous connections to the opposite coast.

This choice came with two major consequences: 1. most of my social interaction happened through my phone or laptop and 2. I spent a lot of time on friendships that were quite passive - without the possibility of simply sharing a cup of coffee, but also lacking the motivation (from either party) to schedule a phone call.

I am here to declutter my passive connections. I am saying goodbye to social media accounts and their creepy, incessant targeted advertising, and pushing myself forward in the uncertain task of creating real adult friendships in the real world.

Iā€™m consolidating my online presence here, so that any friends, former yoga students, and potential project collaborators can connect with me.
